Why I Don’t Celebrate Halloween

“trick or treat”?

I don’t celebrate Halloween too!

“Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil …” 3 John 1:11

Seeing kids in Halloween costumes and hearing people say, “Oh, so cute!” breaks my heart.

Aren’t we teaching kids that dressing up, looking and acting like monsters, witches, zombies or any other scary creature is fun and cute?  Not only we have our kids eat lots of sweets and candies, which isn’t healthy, but we also tell them scary stories, and later would ask help on how to solve our kids’ nightmare problems.

I don’t understand why people would scream their lungs out when they see “ghosts,” but would dress up like one during the Halloween. They may reason out that it’s a tradition that their country practice for centuries.

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”~ Colossians 2:8
